We're on The other side of the Volcanoes now!

Mexico City is on the west side of two volcanoes--Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl, and Puebla is on the east side.  Actually, in Puebla we are surrounded by volcanoes--these two to the west, Malinche to the north, and Orizaba to the east of us.

Popocatepetl is our only active volcano just west of Puebla.

We are standing in front of the snow-covered Ixtaccihuatl volcano also west of Puebla.  It is said to resemble a woman lying on her back.

Just to the right of the Angelopolis ferris wheel is the Malinche volcano, north of Puebla.

Here is the house we are renting in Puebla where we have been living since Dec 1st.

Erica loves making Christmas cookies with her family.  We had a great three weeks celebrating Christ's birth with Erica, hearing about her nursing studies in Minnesota, and introducing her to our new city Puebla.

Puebla decorates their central plaza with extravagance at Christmas.  We enjoyed visiting the historical center of Puebla with Erica.  Just a week before this, the United Chorus of Puebla Churches was invited by the mayor to present a Christmas concert in this plaza.

We enjoyed a reunion with Pastor Erik's family on Dec 28, 2014.  His daughter Pamela (left) is studying music as a 10th grader, his son David just began college at Rio Grande Bible Institute in Texas.  When we arrived in Mexico in 1998, David and Erica were just over a year old.  Pamela and Danny were born a year later.

Here we are at the Mexico City joint worship service on Nov 16 with the leaders of the Joyas Bible Church, Rodrigo and Julie next to us, and Miguel and Janet on the right.  You can see volcano Popocatepetl from the Mexico City side in the background.

Stu is with Pablo who will be married this weekend (March 22) and then travel to England with his bride Cris to investigate ministry opportunities as career missionaries.  David Gomez was with us at the Villa mother church before returning to Uruguay in December 2014 where he has served as a missionary since 2012.

Pastor Erik and deacon Humberto are praying for Andrea before her departure to serve as a missionary-nurse with the Tarahumara ethnic group of Chihuahua in northern Mexico.  Miguel and Stu are representing the Joyas Church leadership.

Andrea on the left is with her new supervisor Pastor Jacob of CHE (Community Health Evangelism) from Chihuahua with his wife and son.

Andrea is sharing with members of the Villa mother church about her ministry in Chihuahua (actually Hugo and Silvia with her in the picture are missionary candidates from Villa headed to Indonesia).

We are cutting the cake celebrating 15 years of ministry of the Summer Missionary Project on February 1st.  We are with fellow Camino missionary Bob and the camp director Pepe.

Our Summer Missionary Project leadership team, from left to right:
Pastor Enrique and his wife, five youth leaders, Director Fernando and his wife next to us.

Here we are with Luis, Director of the Puebla Bible Seminary, and his wife and three daughters.

Here are the leaders of "The Sower" Bible Church from left to right,
Elder Moises and his wife and 3 children, Pastor Carlos and his wife and 3 children, next to us.  We look forward to partnering with them to multiply churches and to take steps in global missions.
