Church Plant of "Safe Refuge" Church - Feb 2019

God has been at work in so many ways this year, and we are excited to share pictures of how He is touching lives.  We cherish your prayers for these people and these ministries!

In September 2018 we began to attend the Safe Refuge Church led by Pastor Bezaleel and Lydia (on the right), and Oscar and Rosy (in the middle).  We meet every month to implement plans for disciple-making and to advance plans for local and global missions.

In 2017 the church received our Summer Missionaries to do an evangelistic kids club in this needy neighborhood called Jorge Murad.  A family trusted in Christ and is attending the church, and since then there has been much interest among the children .

The church began to rent this space in February to offer several activities during the week, including baking classes, English and math, and a kids club on Fridays.  The property has 2 classrooms, a large patio and a bathroom.

Several members of the Safe Refuge mother church are involved in the weekly activities and followup with the families of these children.

Every Saturday, members of the church share day-old bread donated by a Christian baker with neighbors to express love and build relationships.

Rosy leads the youngest of the 3 groups in the kids club.

July 22-26 was the Vacation Bible school in the mother church and this church plant.  Over 50 children participated and enjoyed this evangelistic puppet show on the last day.  Many children have put their trust in Christ, and we are trying to reach their parents.

We teach English and math classes every Thursday 4-6pm.

Salvador is 11 years old, but has never attended school.  He is interested to learn to read and learn math, so Cristina is working with him to get caught up while investigating options enter a school.  His mother abandoned him and his father is busy with work.  Please pray for Salvador.

Child Evangelism Fellowship in Mexico (APEN) coordinated a combined field trip of several Bible clubs in Puebla, and the parents of several of our children gave them permission to participate all day (Sept 21)
